Ball game aims to score

Serial board game entrepreneur, Tom Elliott, is aiming to score big with Midlands’ footie-fans with the creation of his new board game, Ball-Control, a stimulating, and exciting board game designed for players of all ages.

Tom, who lives in Erdington with his wife Lynne, has been busy trialling the new soccer skills game since the summer, receiving very positive feedback from everyone who’s taken part.

Hardly containing his excitement and enthusiasm for Ball-Control, creator Tom said: “Ball-Control is based entirely on the real game of football, although in this case the ball has flat sides to allow it to be moved around the board and not fall off!”

With two versions of the game, one designed for junior players and one for more seasoned professional players as with the real game, each player throws a dice to make their move on the board, with opposing players taking turns to out manoeuvre the opposition. “It’s really easy to play and you soon find yourself wanting to win, just as you would in a real game.”

Tom’s highly colourful board retains a number of common game features, with Tom’s design of the field and ball movement rules uniquely simulating real football manoeuvres. Tom is aiming to launch late spring or early summer next year, with his sights set firmly on striking next year’s Christmas top-ten board game list for 2010.

“Ball-Control is a game that appeals to everyone, no matter how young or old. Football’s popularity is world-wide and Ball-Control delivers a new and exciting way to play. It’s fast, fun and totally entertaining.”

Tom is now in the process of contacting game publishers and producers, with the intention of getting the game in to a range of stores nationally.
