Far Forest School Kitchen thanks to Barclays

The PTA of local school, Far Forest Lea Memorial CE Primary School, are jumping for joy after 10 months of organising numerous fundraising events throughout this current academic year to benefit the school’s pupils, recently securing Barclays Bank’s £ for £ Scheme to top up their fundraising initiatives.

PTA Chair, Mrs Penny Child, said: “This year we have managed to raise a phenomenal amount for the school’s PTA fund and with the generous support from Barclays Bank £ for £ Scheme, we are now finally in the position to move forward and obtain quotes for replacing the school’s existing kitchen to make it a more child friendly area for the children to work in.

“Our thanks to all our children, their families, the school’s teaching staff and event visitors for helping with our fundraising initiatives as it is through their support that we are now able to get this work done.”

This year’s PTA events have included pupil’s cinema nights, School Christmas fair, a festive bike treasure hunt through the Wyre Forest, organising a monthly quiz night held at and sponsored by The Royal Forester, and the PTA’s main event of the year their annual summer fair at Callow Hill Show Ground.

Lynne Rickhuss from Barclays Bank said: "I really enjoyed the event, it was a lot of fun and it is great to raise so much money for the school. It is fantastic that my employer, Barclays Bank, supports the community in this way and matched the funding raised on the raffle."
