Far Forest Lea Memorial CE Primary School has begun an educational partnership with a French school, with the intention of forging strong student links and teacher exchanges for the benefit of the school’s pupils.
Welcoming visiting teacher Mademoiselle Emilie Niess , Headteacher Mrs Tara Collins-Bullock stated: “As parents and pupils are aware, the school is now in partnership with Ecole Elementaire de Saint Pouange and it is with great pleasure that we welcome our first French visitor, Mademoiselle Emilie Niess to Far Forest.
“Over the coming weeks and months the children will have the opportunity of creating and sharing photographs and videos of themselves speaking and practicing their French, and for our French pupils, an opportunity to practice their spoken and written English in a fun and enjoyable way.”
Having initiated a number of educational and sporting school programmes to the academic and after-school curriculum, Mrs Collins hopes that this new language initiative will help not only with the children’s French studies, but will also be used in other lessons such as PE as pupils learn new French sports.
Said Mrs Collins: “This is a very exciting time for the whole school and we hope that all pupils enjoy and participate fully in this new French initiative.”
