Its a Knockout Challenge raises £1000 for Acorns |

Staff at Midlands supply chain specialist Oakland International have raised an amazing £1,000 for local charity Acorns Children’s Hospice Trust by taking part in a special It’s a Knockout event at Arrow Valley Park on Saturday 19th June.
Team Oakland competed against 2 other teams from Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce and Clarke Roxburgh, with all 3 teams competing in 6 different events during the afternoon ranging from bombing the castle and Nordic skiing to a mini marathon.
Winning 4 out of their 6 events, Team Oakland succeeded in gaining 120 points, making them the overall winner on the day.
Oakland Team captain, Hayley Smith, stated: “We had an absolutely fantastic time and although we were exhausted by the end, we’d definitely do it all again.
“I would like to thank our team members for taking part, and on their behalf of I would like to thank everyone who supported us on the day and for sponsoring us. We managed to raise an amazing £1,000 which we still can’t quite believe for Acorns Children’s Hospice which is a remarkable charity. Thank you to everyone for making this possible.”
Oakland’s team members included Hayley Smith, Donna Chew, Lisa Lloyd- Smith, Keith Davies, Kazik Libront, Nigel Connolly, Michael Horton, Helen Wright, Louise Thomas, brothers Ben and Luke Attwell and Yvette Hannon.
Sophie James, Community Fundraising Manager for Acorns Children’s Hospice said: “It was a great day with all the competitors having a huge amount of fun.
“Congratulations to Oakland International for succeeding as the winner on the day.
“It costs Acorns Children's Hospice £450 per bed per day and we don’t’ charge families for our services so their support and impressive fundraising efforts are hugely important.”
