Local businessman Nigel Tinsdale fights the flab

Local Businessman, Nigel Tinsdale, has just launched a four week course aimed at helping people lose weight after seeing his own weight yo-yo in recent years, following poor health.

Dieting then putting weight on, dieting, losing weight and then putting on even more weight back on. Said Nigel: “My weight gain meant I was close to 20 stone but I couldn’t face being on a yet another diet.”

Two years ago Nigel was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, and after trying all sorts to get better, he finally came across a course which promised to teach him how to help himself, and more to the point, it worked!

With his recovery almost instant, he wanted to help others take control of their health and with this inspiration he created the Weight Loss for Life course. “With my sports studies degree and knowledge of the human learning process I quickly realised that the techniques I had learnt to combat chronic fatigue could be adapted to tackle people’s tendency to overeat.”

After extensive research of the whole weight loss subject, Nigel came up with some startling discoveries. “I was amazed, study after study showed that dieting increased the likelihood of increased weight gain in the long term, yet people still persist in dieting.”

Nigel set about applying what he had discovered to general weight loss, using himself and a number of willing volunteers as his test subjects. The results from these initial trials were very promising with steady and gradual weight loss ensuing. He then conducted a four week pilot study of 19 local volunteers, with again positive results.

The nature of Nigel’s weight loss process is for each individual to take control of their own weight, with Nigel personally very pleased with the stone and a half he has lost in three months. “I don’t feel like I am on any diet, it just feels normal but the weight keeps coming off. I’m very pleased.”

Nigel’s next course will begin in November. Full dates and course details are available from his website weightlossforlife.org.uk or you can email him at: nigel@weightlossforlife.org.uk
