Midlands based Oakland International Ltd has appointed Paul Smith as Operations Manager, further strengthening its senior management team at a time of strong positive growth, and to underpin the firm’s expanding customer base and predicted growth for the next 3 years.
 Commenting on his role, Paul said: “Oakland has taken a number of positive steps over the last few years to position itself as a key player within the logistics and supply chain arena. I am delighted to join their team as they again move forward to the next stage of business expansion.
“To play a role in the company’s development plans is an honour and a challenge, and one that I am keen to get underway.”
A multi temperature supply chain specialist, Oakland enjoys a reputation for unrivalled service levels and response times that continue to help Oakland attract new business. In his new role Paul will work alongside Chris Harris, existing Operations Manager, to look after the day to day operational management needs.

Paul brings extensive knowledge and experience of warehouse, depot and distribution management, working as he has with a number of considerable organisations over his 20 year career. With the credit crunch biting hard and hitting global business, the addition of Paul Smith to the Oakland team is viewed as a positive move to help continue the company’s work with its suppliers and customers for the benefit of all concerned.
Paul’s personal claim to fame is that he went to school with and played in the same team as footballers Stan Collymore and Andy Thompson, and that his out of hours passion is his support of Walsall FC. In his spare time Paul also coaches of the Wyrley Juniors U9’s Football Club, running coaching sessions for players aged 5 to 16 years, which all help to keep him fit.
