New IT manager for Midlands firm Oakland

 

Midlands multi temperature supply chain specialist, Oakland International, has appointed Clive Harrison to the post of IT Manager, based at their HQ in Redditch.

Bringing a wealth of industry knowledge and experience, Clive has previously worked within the automotive and computer service industries, with his last five-years seeing an emphasis on distribution and warehouse focused technology advancement.

His primary remit at Oakland will be to migrate existing technology system platforms, exploiting his extensive knowledge of IT products and service applications for the benefit of the business. Oakland’s MD, Dean Attwell, commenting on Clive’s appointment, said: “Clive’s knowledge, proven success and drive, linked with his personal energy, has made a positive impact to date on our plans for the future and we look forward to working with him as part of a strong team, delivering enhanced business benefits for Oakland customers.

“His understanding of systems development in languages such as Progress, SQL, VBA and project and solutions management implementation will be key to the firm as we progress through 2010.”

All aspects of monitoring and control, IT service delivery, dissemination and improved business transparency and good governance, will enable Oakland to streamline their diverse application portfolio.

In the last year, Oakland has been successful in opening a depot in Ireland and in launching Oakland Distribution; supporting and securing a number of high profile Irish, UK and European supply chain and 3PL contracts, servicing key retailers and food service outlets both within the UK and Ireland.
