Oakland International finalists for four Chamber awards

 

Multi temperature supply chain specialist Oakland International has been selected as finalists in four award categories for this year’s prestigious Chamber Business Awards to be held at Worcester Cathedral on Thursday 21st July.

With over 500 attendees present on the night, Oakland International will be competing against a host of other successful regional firms vying for Chamber success.

Oakland International MD, Dean Attwell, stated: “Being selected as finalists in one category is terrific, but in four is simply phenomenal; this is a fantastic achievement for everyone in our growing team.”

Oakland International are finalists for “Large Business of the Year”, “Excellence in People Development”, “Service Excellence” and the “Environmental Award”. As one of three finalists in each category, Oakland now enters the next stage of judging before category winners are announced at the awards ceremony in July. This is the second time Oakland has been nominated for the Business of the Year and the Environmental Award, previously winning Business of the Year in 2006 and the Environmental Award in 2010.

A major local employer with over 150 staff and a plan to create 30 new jobs by Christmas 2011, Oakland International continues to invest in the company’s Management Development Programme, aimed at identifying managers and team leaders of the future. As part of their commitment to the environment, Oakland has introduced a number recycling schemes replacing energy rich systems with renewable alternatives, and significantly reduced carbon emissions for the benefit of both Oakland’s operations and that of their customers.
