Staff at Redditch based multi-temperature supply chain specialist, Oakland International, are voting for 16-year-old chocolate sensation Louis Barnett in this year’s Enterprising Young Brits People’s Choice to be held next week, 16th November.
Young Louis runs Chokolit, an exciting new chocolate company that produces the edible chocolate box. Having made chocolate for his friends and family in his parents’ garage since the autumn of 2005, Louis and Chokolit then began working with Oakland International following a conversation dad Phil had with Oakland director, Sallie Attwell. Said Sallie: “We began by simply providing free distribution advice and it’s grown from there.”
After sending a sample to Waitrose in early 2007, Louis is now the youngest supplier the supermarket chain has ever had. With his chocolates in demand, securing orders from Waitrose and Sainsburys, working with Oakland, Louis has his distribution routes sorted. Said Sallie: “With Oakland’s specialist knowledge we have been helping to support all aspects of Chokolit’s supply chain requirements, leaving them to do what they do best, Chokolit. The whole Oakland team, family and friends will be voting for Louis.”
Since August, Oakland has helped Chokolit supply over 36,000 Chokolit boxes of chocolate, with orders and new enquiries continuing still to come in. Chokolit’s creator, Louis Barnett, commented: “We feel very lucky to have the expertise and support of such a professional award winning company behind us. Not only are they helping us reach markets all over the UK but they will allow us to expand faster than we ever thought possible.”
Oakland will support Chokolit’s seasonal distribution to Waitrose and Sainsburys and supporting the recent launch of Chokolit’s twenty new products.
