A new game developed by Midlands based entrepreneur, Tom Elliott, has received fantastic feedback following local gaming trials with the Birmingham Inventors Club and a number of other gaming enthusiasts, who know one or two things about the art of board gaming.
Hoping to be the next big thing in box games and challenging other firm game favourites such as Monopoly, Scrabble and the noble art of Chess, Planet Invaders has all the ingredients for great success.
Designer Tom intentionally included educational attributes and used information in a creative and imaginative way taken from our Solar system, and included mathematical calculations to encourage growth in perception skills and strategic thinking.
Said Tom: “The game is based around uniquely designed space rockets, with each looking to invade the solar system and take over as many planets as possible.”
Two versions of the game allow for either four or up to nine players, with cards enabling players to invade, refuel and compete for planet possession and score points. “The feedback has been extremely encouraging, so much so that I’m now in the process of looking for and speaking to a number of schools to organise further game wars between students. I’m also looking to obtain feedback from teachers on its educational properties.”
Tom will be speaking to game publishers and producers such as Hasbro, Mayfair Games and Reiver, an independent publisher of modern games based in Bristol, with the intention of getting the game in to a range of stores across the country, and under game cover, serial game creator Tom is working on a range of other projects he currently has up his sleeves.
