A major recruitment drive is underway with Oakland International Limited set to hold a recruitment evening at their Alcester depot on the evening of Monday 9 February in a bid to fill a number of positions at its Redditch and Alcester depots.
Oakland’s Operations Director, Mr Paul Ziolek, commenting on the company’s recruitment day said: “Oakland has experienced and continues to experience positive growth, attracting as we have a number of new contracts utilising our expanding export and import distribution and storage operation; hence we are now actively looking to recruit for a range of roles across the whole of our storage and distribution operation.”
The company, unlike many others across the region, has continued to increase its workforce in response to demand for its expanding ambient, chilled and frozen food service operation, gaining
extensive storage and distribution contracts from across the UK and Europe.
Said Paul: “Oakland’s successful model for chilled case and pallet consolidation is working extremely well, distributing as we do throughout the UK and Ireland for wholesale and retail networks.”
A multi temperature supply chain specialist in storage, picking, contract packing and logistics, Oakland announced in November their intention to increase its existing workforce by an additional 150 employees over the next three years.
Working with retailers, discounters and foodservice outlets such as Tesco, Waitrose, Budgens, Aldi and Nisa, long-term employment prospects continue to be bright. Said Paul: “Oakland has a longstanding policy of employee progression and training with many of our employees attaining NVQ certification. By investing in our workforce we secure our business future and the employment future of our workforce.”
Oakland operates a longstanding policy of community integration, commitment to green initiatives and as an ethical and environmentally aware employer employees actively encouraged to participate in the Business Language Champions programme which is designed to bridge the gap between school and the workplace, with the intention of reversing the UK’s recent decline in foreign language subject uptake within our schools.
