Redditch firm enjoys treble final

 

Finalists in three award categories at this year’s prestigious Chamber of Commerce awards for Herefordshire & Worcestershire, staff at Redditch based Oakland International Ltd have been gripped by award fever, willing the company on for next week’s final being held at Eastnor Castle in Ledbury on Thursday 5th June 2008.

Celebrating ten years in business, staff were jubilant following their announcement as category finalists in the Green Business of the Year Award, The Growth Business of the Year Award and also the Excellence in the Food & Drink Industry Award.

Speaking for on behalf of Oakland staff, Oakland director Sallie Attwell said: “The team is over the moon and thrilled to be chosen as finalists at this year’s Chamber awards. We have a great team of people who are dedicated to delivering on targets. Acknowledgement of our recycling initiatives, our excellent service delivery record and our overall business grow is a huge honour.”

Oakland’s expanding operations sees this locally focused developing business currently employing 100 people, with further plans to expand to 200 by 2010.

Said Sallie: “Oakland’s selection as finalists in three categories is extremely gratifying and we thank every member of the team for making our selection possible.”

Celebrating the very best in business across the two counties, this year has seen the awards attract a record number of award entrants with more than 500 people expected to attend next week’s ceremony.
