National building contractor, Speller Metcalfe, proudly launched their exciting new business division, ‘Living’, at a ceremony in Worcester recently.
The new Speller Metcalfe Living division will concentrate on the design, build and development of bespoke private and residential projects, social housing, extra care accommodation and educational boarding facilities.
Through their specialist construction expertise and reputation for innovation and excellence when working with a diverse range of living solutions, Speller Metcalfe’s housing Manager, Matt Brown, stated: “Speller Metcalfe is known for promoting a collaborative and innovative approach toward achieving excellence in construction, and after 18 months of extremely hard planning, we have applied our core principles to establish a specialist division dedicated to meeting the needs of today’s housing requirements.”
Aiming to raise standards for the stipulation of low cost sustainable housing, the new division is headed by a specialist housing team possessing key knowledge in commercial and construction requirements.
Speller Metcalfe ‘Living’ will work closely with its client base to bring the right expertise in at the early stages of feasibility assessment by sourcing land provision and working through the design development stages to accrue maximum land usage.
Building costs will be driven well below that of existing framework agreements through the efficient management and programming of the procurement and building processes and also by targeting a zero defects policy when selecting and managing resources, placing emphasis on quality.
A further major aspect of the ‘Living’ division stems from the firm’s specialist knowledge of sustainable construction methods, with the company already having successfully completed projects built to Sustainable Homes, Code Level 6 status and now building houses to Passivhaus accreditation standard.
Managing Director Steve Speller will head the division, joined by Matt Brown, Residential Development Manager.
