Triple win for Mansell at England National finals

Holy Trinity International School student, Gabriella Mansell (15yrs), representing the Midlands region, has excelled at the England National Finals of the Independent Schools Athletics Championships at Alexandra Stadium in Birmingham on Wednesday 22nd June.

Securing a magnificent 3rd place in both the 100m and the long jump against stiff national competition, Gabriella also secured a 2nd place in the team relay. HTIS Head, Mrs Pamela Leek-Wright, stated: “We are delighted for Gabriella, it is a fantastic achievement that demonstrates great promise for the future.

“To gain such significant positions as a relative newcomer is incredible and testament to her hard work and dedication.”

Her achievement is all the more impressive as she only took up athletics seriously last year after being encouraged by HTIS sports staff to join her local club Stourport Athletics; since when she hasn’t looked back. Due to her age, Gabriella will again be able to compete in the same age category (Yr10/11) next year.
