Worcester College tutor builds custom motorbike monster

Kevin Dainty, a tutor at Worcester College of Technology, has embarked upon a project to build a motorbike more powerful than most modern sports cars.

With the backing of local, national as well as international businesses such as Worcester Powder Coating, RK Wadley metal polishing and world-renowned supercharger manufacturer Eaton, Kevin is well on his way to building an internationally recognised motorcycle and all using the skills and expertise from local industry.

Working on the project since January 2010, Kevin has documented and photographed the entire project on his blog, http://gpz9.me with the support and help of Birmingham-based business Kamazoy who has provided the technical support and website all free of charge.

Kevin stated: “I’ve had people from far and wide offering support for this project, and I’m indebted to each and every one of them.

“With the help of business from Worcester, the West Midlands and even from as far as America, I’ve been able to build a one-of-a-kind motorbike using skills from the industry and they’ve all pulled together to help me out.”

With companies now approaching Kevin to offer parts and support, he is overjoyed with the recognition his project has already achieved. “It’s a fantastic feeling when so many businesses and people want to help you, and do so from their own pocket, especially in these difficult times.”

The engine’s construction is now nearly complete and with the upholstery and bodywork currently being designed, Kevin hopes to complete the bike next year and show it at specialist custom bike rallies held across the UK.

Any company or business interested in helping Kevin and in promoting their skills or industry can contact him at hello@gpz9.me or by following his blog on twitter: twitter.com/gpz9 or by visiting his blog at http://gpz9.me for all the latest news, pictures and update on his progress.
