Ticket enquiries for this year’s Harry Tuffins spectacular charity Fun Day due to be held on Sunday 3rd August within the grounds of Harry Tuffins Country Park, Churchstoke, Powys suggest it will be their biggest and best to date.
Held annually for more than a decade, this year’s event is set to attract record crowds, with exhibitors coming from as far afield as Pembrokeshire, Yorkshire, the Midlands, Cheshire and Worcestershire. Richard Whittall, operations director at Harry Tuffins said: “We’ve been astounded by the number of enquiries we’ve received, and as with previous years we started taking exhibitor bookings earlier than we did the year before. Numbers so far suggest it’s going to be a real cracker of a Fun Day.”
Visitors can enjoy the many attractions including a personal helicopter flight, the biggest number of stalls than ever before, motorbike displays, steam rally, vintage cars, and with numerous children’s rides to keep even the littlest of people happy, the event is a winner for the whole family. “We want to ensure everyone enjoys themselves and that our exhibitors and visitors have a fantastic day out too. The money we raise from the Fun Day will be used locally and regionally to support a range of charity and community initiatives that we would simply not be able to support without the generosity of our visitors, many of whom travel a very long way to join us every year.
“Our target this year is to break all previous records and raise £30,000 and with visitor numbers growing year on year, fingers crossed we will be able to achieve this.”
Annually the event raises thousands of pounds for charity. In 2006 they raised in excess of £21,000 and in 2007 a staggering £27,000 distributed to over 100 local community and charitable organisations including schools, churches and small groups as well as a £2,000 donation to Birmingham Heartlands Hospital to help cystic fibrosis sufferers and a £3,000 donation to Hope House children’s hospice in Oswestry.
In addition to arena displays, stalls and attractions, visitors can enjoy the park’s many animals including highland cattle, deer, horses, sheep, pigs, doves, peacocks and an ever-growing population of buffalo!
