Multi temperature supply chain and logistics specialist, Oakland International, has appointed David Hoey as Business Improvements Project Manager, tasked with driving forward the profitable delivery of a number of key improvements in environmental, purchasing, cost and process management initiatives, designed to help the firm strengthen forward growth momentum of its entire operation.
Oakland MD Dean Attwell stated: “David has a proven track record in management, purchasing and cost reduction which will be put to good use across all areas of Oakland’s operation.
“Spearheading dynamic cost savings throughout the business, whilst driving forward outstanding projects to completion, David has already been instrumental in achieving large cost reductions on electricity consumption and communications technology.”
Oakland views David’s appointment, and the initial savings he has achieved, as being only the tip of the cost reduction iceberg, with many more opportunities to add value to the firm’s established UK and Irish operations.
A background which encompasses commercial management, purchasing, service operations and materials handling, David brings a wealth of experience to Oakland’s vibrant senior management team.
Said David: “I am really excited about learning more about the business, meeting and working with the many people who make up Oakland’s workforce and offering new ideas and practices that will benefit not only Oakland’s operations, but that too of Oakland’s customers and stakeholders.”
