New Head for Holy Trinity International School

In the first few days of 2011, Holy Trinity International School (HTIS) saw the retirement of headteacher, Mr Graham Hurrell, and the arrival of new headteacher, Mrs Pam Leek-Wright, as she took the reins ready for a very busy spring term ahead.

Already a popular and familiar face to pupils, staff and parents as the school’s deputy head, Mrs Leek-Wright was key in the school’s transition in to a fully co-educational school, seeing pupil numbers develop from nursery right through to their sixth form, which having recently received major investment and refurbishment, is perfect for study and transition in to university life and beyond.

Educational and exam success, HTIS has a strong reputation for an extended sports curriculum which has propelled many students to attain county triumph across of range of sports including football, rugby, cricket, cross country, swimming, hockey, netball and the British Schools boys and girls biathlons.

Mrs Leek-Wright, commenting on her appointment as Head stated: “I am delighted and proud to succeed as Head of a school that has such strong family values and one which works co-operatively to ensure students of all ages achieve their full potential on both an academic and personal level.”

Mr Hurrell, former head of IES' sister school in Boca Raton, Florida, has during his time at HTIS cemented their international links between IES’ seventeen schools and two universities; opening fresh student opportunities and sister school visits.

Mrs. Leek-Wright stated she is keen to extend existing international links, with a joint IES sports team already organised with their Devon sister school, St Johns, ready for an InterIES sports competition being held in Guayaquil, Ecuador this coming May, 2011.
