Oakland International finalists in CSR awards |

Redditch-based multi temperature supply chain specialist in warehousing and logistics, Oakland International, has been selected as finalists in the first Corporate Social Responsibility Awards run by the Worcestershire Ambassadors, with the overall winners announced at a glittering black tie reception at Sixways Worcester on Thursday 25th November. 
The awards, launched earlier this year, recognize businesses throughout Worcestershire who take CSR seriously and who give something back to the community.
Finalists in the Workplace and staff category Oakland was evaluated on the workplace initiatives and employee support. Dean Attwell, Oakland’s MD stated: “We are absolutely delighted to have been chosen as finalists in this category. We understand that it is the attitude and passion of our team which provides our business with the firm foundations from which we can continue to grow. Similarly, our team is largely recruited from our local community and we feel that we have a responsibility to put something back into the community where they and their families live. This can be in the form of sponsorship or through simply encouraging team members to partake in activities that support local community and school initiatives.
“Introducing management training initiatives and engaging with local youth organisations, schools, sporting clubs and charitable groups, and our programme of working with Oakland customers to make major inroads in to landfill, carbon and energy reductions, that we all enjoy and benefit from operating an open and inclusive approach to business.”
Worcestershire Ambassadors three award categories cover environment, community workplace and staff.
