Oliver production hailed a resounding success

A production which took many months to bring to fruition has been hailed a total success, with students at Kidderminster’s Holy Trinity International School performing Oliver to a packed theatre audience for each night of its three-night run (24-26 Nov).

The production, acknowledged as being one of the most spectacular performances ever given by students at the school, was officially opened by the Mayor of Kidderminster, Cllr Mrs Anne Hingley, who cut the ribbon on both the production and on the school’s new £10,000 theatre lighting system.

Produced and directed by the school’s Deputy Head and Head of Music, Mrs Vikki Vincent, with support from English teacher Mr Carl Walmsley.

Mrs Vincent stated: “A fantastic effort by all - our cast did not want it to end. A huge vote of thanks must go to all the people behind the scenes. Our wonderful new stage lighting, made possible by the generous work, funding and support of our very active Parent’s Association, and also to Tony Bennett and the staff at Coomber Electronic, who kindly donated additional microphones as well as their audio know-how to make this production such a huge success.”

Supplementary sound equipment supplied by Worcester based company, Coomber Electronic Equipment Ltd, who having heard of the school’s need to increase its audio capabilities for the Oliver mega production, generously offered to help.

Said Mrs Vincent: “The curtain may be down on this production, but the school is now focusing on raising funds for new audio equipment to support future shows of equal theatrical magnitude!”
