Open Farm Sunday at Whyle House Lamb Leominster |
|
Husband and wife Andy and Frances Offer who own and run Whyle House Lamb in Herefordshire, as part of this year’s Farming UK's Open Farm Sunday 2009, will be opening their farm to visitors and inviting families to join them for a lamb roast on Sunday 7th June from between 2.00pm and 5.00pm.
Whyle House Lamb in Pudleston near Leominster has been rearing lamb for the last 4 years. Said Andy: “We are both very excited about taking part in this year’s Farming UK Open Farm Sunday as it will give visitors the opportunity of seeing how we run our farm. It is vital that people know where their food comes from and that by buying local produce they can make a real impact in their local economy.” adding, “The feedback from previous open events has been so positive that we thought it would be a great opportunity to again open our doors and invite visitors to try our lamb with a lamb roast.”
An appointment for this free event isn’t necessary, but if you could contact Andy and Frances beforehand on 07831 256463 to let them know you plan to join them; they would very much appreciate it? Tractor and trailer rides for children of all ages, will be available.
Said Andy: “People buy our lamb because they know where it comes from. They know we take good care of our animals and of course, because of its taste. We want the opportunity to explain how we farm and our reasons for doing things the way we do, but the main aim of the afternoon is to have a relaxing time and enjoy a good Whyle House Lamb roast.”
Remember, please do bring wellington boots or suitable footwear that can be disinfected and a sun hat if the sun is shining!
