Redditch business hat trick final

A Redditch based firm has been announced as finalists in not one, but three award categories at this year’s prestigious Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce awards to be held at Eastnor Castle, Ledbury on 5th June 2008.

The company, which this year celebrates its tenth anniversary, has been announced as finalists in the categories of Green Business of the Year Award, The Growth Business of the Year Award and also the Excellence in the Food & Drink Industry Award.

Oakland director Sallie Attwell commenting on the announcement said: “We are absolutely delighted and thrilled to be chosen as finalists at this year’s Chamber awards. The team of people we have working with us are dedicated, service orientated and business focused and it is because of them we have been selected.”

As Oakland has grown and expanded operations, they have instilled a ‘green’ growth philosophy throughout the company introducing a number recycling schemes, investing through replacement of energy rich systems with renewable alternatives and using clean eco-friendly alternatives wherever possible. A rapidly developing business Oakland now employs 100 people, with plans to grow to around 200 by 2010.

Said Sallie: “Oakland’s selection as finalists in three categories is extremely gratifying and we would like to thank every member of our team who has made our selection possible. We couldn’t do it without you.”

Celebrating the very best in business across the two counties, this year has seen the awards attract a record number of award entrants with more than 500 people expected to attend the awards ceremony.
