WBTSG art exhibition and fun day

There's a special art exhibition coming up at the Kate Modern Art Gallery in Stoke Prior, Bromsgrove - organised by Worcestershire Brain Tumour Support Group and in celebration of artists who have been affected by brain tumours.

The event was the inspiration of WBTSG group member David Eaves. Diagnosed with a brain tumour in August 2010, David found that the limitations which his condition placed on him also gave him the time and impetus to concentrate on an activity which he has loved for many years - watercolour painting. This positive outcome to such a debilitating illness inspired David to suggest to Rosemary Wormington, founder of WBTSG and former carer who sadly lost a daughter to the condition, that an art exhibition would be a wonderful way to raise awareness of brain tumour issues and highlight the support that is available for people locally.

With the backing of Kate Rees, artist and owner of the Kate Modern Gallery at Stoke Prior, David's idea found a home. Kate is wholeheartedly behind the project, offering her gallery space to house the exhibition for two weeks in June.

The exhibition will host a variety of art forms including painting, photography, and handy crafts and is open Tuesday - Saturday, 10am-4pm, from Saturday 11th to the 25th June. There is a special Family Fun Day on Saturday 18th which will incorporate face painting, music, cakes and refreshments as well as the opportunity of meeting some of the artists to hear more about their work and experiences.

Entry to the exhibition is free and there is free car parking available at the nearby Ewe and Lamb Pub for the Family Fun Day on 18th June.

Event address: 72 Hanbury Road, Stoke Prior, Bromsgrove B60 4DN.
