The Worcestershire Youth Jazz Orchestra continues to impress audiences wherever it performs, with their next outing being at the Artrix Theatre, Bromsgrove on Monday 13th July from 7.30pm, with special quest appearance from Pete Long.

Boasting some of the Counties finest young musicians, WYJO’s reputation gains momentum year on year, with this year taking them abroad for the first time, with a short tour to Holland, Germany, and Belgium, with their Artrix debut of their exciting new feeder band, WYJO2.

Playing with the orchestra on the night, Pete Long, alto sax/clarinet superstar is their special guest. Pete has worked with a diversity of artists - Lionel Richie, Stereophonics, The Blind Boys of Alabama, Sting, Jools Holland, Sir Paul McCartney, Ray Davis, Chick Chorea, John Scofield and Dizzy Gillespie to name just a few!

Musical Director Ian Hattersley said: “The Artrix is a fantastic venue and it promises to be an amazing evening. Performing with Pete Long and the orchestra will be an absolute delight.”

The orchestra is ranked as one of the finest jazz groups in the county and continues to build a loyal following amongst jazz music lovers. Said Mr Hattersley: “The orchestra loves what they do, taking pleasure in performing a selection of arrangements for the audience. Focused at all times, we work tirelessly to ensure that they have as many opportunities they can to grow and develop as musicians.”

All aspiring WYJO members are encouraged to audition from an early age, as there is no minimum age, only an upper age limit of 25 years. Ticket prices are £7.50, concessions £5, with curtain up at 7.30pm
