Waterproofs perfect for rainy days |

On possibly one of the wettest days of the school summer term, infant children at Beoley First School headed off through the rain to the school’s communal garden to try out their newly acquired wet-weather gardening gear.
The children aged between 5 and 6 years of age, donned in wet-weather green waterproofs and wellington boots, couldn’t contain their excitement as the rain intensified and they stayed dry. Beoley First School Headteacher, Sally Davies, said: “These waterproofs are fantastic. We are now able to explore our wonderful outdoor environment in all weathers. A big 'thank you' from all staff and children.”
The children’s new waterproofs kindly supplied by family owned Beoley firm, Oakland International, who having a longstanding policy of community integration and commitment to environmental principles were very happy to help.
Oakland Director Sallie Attwell said: “We were delighted to help out and provide the children with new waterproofs for their gardening and environmental school activities. They all seemed to approve of their new wet gear as they were putting them on as soon as we could open the box!”
Now the children at Beoley First School are able to tend their environmental garden all year round, in all weather conditions, without getting wet -roll on winter!
