Whyle House Lamb event extended as triplets arrive in time for Easter

Not the traditional Easter bunny, but the Easter lamb, Whyle House Lamb will be extending their opening afternoons to Saturday 25th April, from 2pm to 5pm daily, for children and their families to experience sheep farming first hand.

Whyle House Lamb in Herefordshire has taken delivery of its first set of triplets as the sheep farm opens its doors for FREE during this year’s lambing. Based in Pudleston, Leominster they have decided to extend their open event for another week, ending on Saturday, 25th April, to allow more local nurseries and schools the opportunity of visiting the farm following the Easter break.

Farm owners, husband and wife Andy and Frances Offer, said they have been delighted with the response from the general public. Said Andy: “After being contacted by number of people and the local Rainbows wanting to visit the sheep farm following the Easter break we decided to open for a further week to allow more people the opportunity to pay us a visit.”

With just under 60 sets of twin lambs still expected and another six sets of lamb triplets still to be born, there will be lots to do and see over the coming weeks. They hope children and their parents will take the opportunity to speak with both Andy and Frances about their lambs, their farm and about their way of life and discuss with them their sheep farming ethos of health, wellbeing and quality of life for their flock.

Said Andy: “The feedback so far has been extremely positive with many visitors staying for the majority of the afternoon. Feeding and looking after our new mums and babies, it’s just magical.”

Set in the heart of the beautiful Herefordshire countryside, Andy and Frances are expecting to take delivery of around 160 lambs in total, making it a very busy time over the next three weeks.
