2025 has been a landmark year for Urban Farm-It, a year of bold vision, purposeful action, and transformative growth. What began as a pioneering grow-your-own brand has evolved into a vertically integrated enterprise, delivering delicious mushrooms and sustainable food solutions to mainstream grocery and foodservice channels. This progress reflects a powerful combination of strategic partnerships, product innovation, and mission-driven research and development.
Urban Farm-It’s R&D team is redefining and expanding its offering beyond fresh and dried produce to develop a pioneering range of prepared Lion’s Mane products that promises to transform the culinary landscape. Crafted entirely free from ultra-processed ingredients and grown organically they make high-quality, healthy, meat alternatives more accessible than ever.

A strategic partnership with Oakland International has positioned Urban Farm-It as the UK’s most technologically advanced Lion’s Mane farm. By championing vertical integration, they maintain uncompromising quality control from cultivation to final product. Every stage of production is overseen by a dedicated team of experts, ensuring excellence at scale.
Together, Urban Farm-It and Oakland International launched Urban Farm-Produce, a joint venture designed to accelerate production and strengthen cold-chain logistics. This collaboration sets a new benchmark for innovation and reliability in the alternative protein sector.
This year saw fresh Lion’s Mane mushrooms debut in Sainsbury’s, marking a historic first-to-market moment in the UK and transforming a niche ingredient into a grocery staple. Urban Farm-It also achieved Soil Association Organic certification and Red Tractor assurance, reinforcing its commitment to quality and transparency. Strategic partnerships have been central to this success.
CEO Elliot Webb explains: “We’re not just expanding we’re reshaping what food looks like in the UK. The next chapter for Urban Farm-It is about growing more, reaching further, and proving that Lion’s Mane is ready to become an everyday staple. Our farms are scaling, our distribution is stronger than ever, and we’re on a mission to continue redefining the British food industry.”
Beyond retail, Urban Farm-It’s consultancy arm has delivered high-impact projects, advising Blenheim Palace on carbon-negative food systems, installing hydroponics at Mulberry School for Girls, and showcasing mycelium-led sustainability at the Chelsea Flower Show. Their commitment and dedication to ethical innovation also earned them the Gift of the Year Award in the Ethical and Sustainable category for their acclaimed mushroom grow kit range.
Urban Farm-It’s philosophy remains clear: No fillers, factories, and no ultra-processed shortcuts. The future of plant-based eating should be built on real ingredients grown well, full of flavour, and naturally good for you. This belief drives the company’s ambition to make sustainable, self-sufficient living accessible to everyone, from businesses to individuals in urban flats.
Elliot added: “Much more than mushrooms, we’re rethinking how fresh food is grown, moved, and enjoyed in the UK, building systems that are smarter, more resilient, and better for people and the planet. And as we grow, we’ll keep learning, listening, and evolving with the community that got us here. Our mission is simple: grow together, restore connection, and create a food culture that benefits people and the planet.”
