Oakland International Sustainability Officer Elinor Smith said: "Winning this award is fantastic recognition of the dedication, innovation and passion shown by our teams every day. Sustainability is embedded throughout Oakland International, shaping the decisions we make, the investments we undertake and the partnerships we build.

"This achievement reflects our commitment to delivering meaningful environmental and social impact while continuing to provide exceptional value for our customers. We are incredibly proud to see that work recognised by UKWA."

The award also acknowledges Oakland's continued investment in renewable energy, carbon reduction initiatives, food security projects and innovative supply chain solutions designed to support a more resilient and sustainable food supply chain.

With science-based net-zero targets validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), Oakland International continues to demonstrate its commitment to measurable climate action, embedding sustainability, responsible governance and social value across every aspect of its operations, and gained industry recognition for its award-winning Distress Load Management service, which helps retailers, manufacturers and brands minimise food waste and maximise product recovery, alongside its integrated storage, distribution, contract packing, consolidation and direct-to-consumer solutions across the UK and Ireland.

Oakland International Co-Founder Dean Attwell added: “Sustainability is not a destination but an ongoing commitment to continuous improvement. We have always believed businesses have a responsibility to create positive change, and this award recognises the collective efforts of our colleagues, customers and partners who share that vision.

"As the challenges facing food supply chains continue to evolve, we remain focused on developing innovative solutions that help reduce waste, lower environmental impact and create lasting value for future generations."

The award win further strengthens Oakland International's position as one of the UK's leading sustainable supply chain businesses, demonstrating how commercial success and responsible business practices can work hand in hand to deliver long-term benefits for customers, communities and the environment.
