Holy Trinity School and Sixth Form Centre in Kidderminster is celebrating after being awarded the top accolade of ‘Platinum’ in the School Games Mark awards 2022/2023.
The Wyre Forest School Sport Partnership has been running for the past 12 years and works with schools from across the Wyre Forest to improve standards in PE, whilst providing opportunities for young people to engage, compete and lead in sport.
Head of Prep PE Sarah Williams said: “We are absolutely thrilled to receive a rating of ‘Platinum’ in this year’s School Games Mark awards.
“Having received a ‘Gold’ rating last year we have ensured our focus of increasing participation in a wide range of sports across all key stages has continued, and our students achieved some fantastic results in a variety of sports, both locally and nationally, and our varied curriculum also encompasses several non-traditional sports.
Holy Trinity students can take part and compete in a range of sports including football, netball, hockey, rugby, basketball, swimming, spikeball, tennis, cricket, and rounders to name but a few.
Added Sarah: “We are extremely proud of all our students. They work hard but also ensure they enjoy challenging themselves through sport.”
Headteacher Pamela Leek-Wright said: “We are truly delighted to receive this award which is an acknowledgement of the important role PE plays within school.
“At Holy Trinity, we believe that PE is a critical part of the curriculum which supports positive mental and physical health, whilst enriching the education of our students.”
