Kidderminster Harriers Drive Children Football Crazy

Weekly football sessions at Little Trinity Nursery, provided by Kidderminster Harriers, are extremely popular with a growing number of children eager to take part.

The official football season maybe over but not for these youngsters who look forward to their weekly football. As part of the nursery’s Early Years Physical development programme all children can take part in a range of activities including swimming, ballet and PE.

Aspiring football players from Little Trinity Nursery with their coach Becky Butler from Kidderminster Harriers Community Trust and Community Trust Sports coach apprentice Adam.

Nursery manager, Gaynor Carter, said: “We introduced football about ten years ago with the help of Kidderminster Harriers Football Club and it has continued to flourish and become extremely popular with all our children and their parents who love to see their little ones learn how to kick and chase a football.

“It’s a fantastic way to keep fit and to make the best of the great outdoors, or in the indoor gym when wet. Playing football with Kidderminster Harriers is embedded into the nursery’s extracurricular sports activities and one of the many physical undertakings we encourage, with ball skills aiding the children’s physical development.”

Becky Butler, Kidderminster Harriers Community Trust commented: “I always have a great time coaching the children football from Little Trinity Nursery.

“The sessions include chasing games, learning penguin feet with the football and knocking over the cones. They always have a smile on their faces."
