Children at Little Trinity Nursery in Kidderminster are bustling with excitement as they witness firsthand the incredible lifecycle journey of their baby butterflies.
As part of their summer term activities, the children are closely observing each stage of the butterflies’ development, sparking wonder and curiosity at every turn.

Nursery Manager Gaynor Carter said: “The butterfly’s life cycle is a captivating process which starts as tiny eggs before hatching into hungry caterpillars, who spend their days munching away and growing rapidly, so it’s highly entertaining for the children to watch.”
After shedding their skin several times, the caterpillars form a chrysalis, where a remarkable transformation takes place before they finally become adults.
Added Gaynor: “It’s truly heartwarming to see the children’s joy and excitement as they watch these tiny creatures grow and change as they prepare to become adult butterflies ready for their release into the wild.
“This hands-on experience brings the magic of nature to life, making learning both delightful and memorable for the children.”
